Townsend Harris High School is known as a public magnet high school, established in 1904, located in Kew Gardens Hills, New York, USA. It was closed due to some budgetary concerns by mayor Fiorello La Guardia in 1942, however it was reopened in 1984 through the advocacy of their Alumni Association, and moved into a new building located on the campus of Queens College in 1995. In USA, consistently this school ranks among the top 100 High Schools, and is ranked #33 in the country by U.S. News & World Report.


The most distinguished characteristic of the Townsend Harris High school's curriculum is the senior "bridge year" program, in which bright students are offered to take up to 12 credits at Queens College at free of cost to themselves. Admission to the school is based on passing competitive test with high grades, open to the 8th and 9th grade residents of the New York City. Townsend Harris High School graduate brilliant and provoked students who become lifelong apprentice and create consequential contributions to the world.
