Izod Center is a multi-purpose arena, known as home of the New Jersey Nets and the former home of the New Jersey Devils. It was opened on July 2,1981, located in the Meadowlands Sports Complex, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States. The former names of Izod Center were Brendan Byrne Arena and Continental Airlines Arena. The arena is owned and operated by New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. The venue hosted concerts and other various shows and events as well, with a seating capacity of 20,000.
The tenants of Izod Center included New Jersey Nets (NBA), New Jersey Devils (NHL), New Jersey Red Dogs/Gladiators (AFL), New York Cosmos (NASL Indoor) (MISL), New Jersey Storm (National Lacrosse League), Seton Hall Pirates (NCAA Basketball), TicketCity Legends Classic, and Fordham Rams (NCAA Basketball). Izod Center also hosted the 1995, 2000, 2001, and 2003 Stanley Cup Finals, and 2003 NBA Finals as well.
