The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge that links San Francisco with Marin County. The The bridge spans the Golden Gate Strait which is the entrance to the San Francisco Bay from the Pacific Ocean. The bridge is named after the Golden Gate Strait.

Construction of the bridge began on January 5, 1933 and it was opened in 1937. It was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1964 with a span of 4,200 feet and now it has the 12th rank among the longest suspension bridges of the world.

The bridge allows beautiful views of the city. It has Art Deco styling, signature International Orange color and 746-foot tall towers. It entertains more than 10 million visitors all the year round and especially during the summer and changing weather conditions.
